Matthew D. Wagoner is a member of the Firm’s Litigation Department. Matt is involved with a variety of litigation proceedings on behalf of the Firm’s clients. His experience includes commercial contract disputes, Article 78 proceedings, a variety of real property actions, corporate litigation, discovery and evidentiary issues, as well as extensive civil procedure. Prior to joining the Firm, Matt was the Principal Law Clerk to a New York State Supreme Court Justice where he researched and drafted proposed decisions and orders on the vast majority of applications made to the court, including dispositive motions, trial and hearing decisions, evidentiary rulings, discovery disputes, and emergency applications. He also guided parties through substantial settlement negotiations in all stages of litigation, and achieved a great deal of success in facilitating resolutions of their disputes.
Matt graduated from Albany Law School, with honors, in 2006. Prior to and during law school, Matt worked at prominent local law firm. His breadth of legal experience there, including researching and drafting memoranda and corporate governance documents, as well as assisting in trial preparations, real estate closings, and depositions, provided him with a practical legal education that complimented his law school studies. Matt also participated in the Albany Law School Litigation Clinic where he represented clients before Administrative Law Judges as well as assisted in drafting an appellate brief to the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department.
